During the August 5 meeting of the recently elected members of the 2012-2014 Board of Trustees, under the direction and spiritual guidance of Fr. Herb Schneider, the group selected Eduardo “Bong” Pelaez to be BCBP’s next Chairman of the Board of Trustees, taking over the helm in January 2012 from Bobby Atendido. Lino Manuel Jimenez, “Manny”, was chosen as President-Elect of the BCBP at the same meeting; he will assume the position January 2012 succeeding Larry Veloso. Both Bobby and Larry are successfully completing their 3-year terms in December of this year 2011.

Bro Bong Pelaez (left), an active member of BCBP Cagayan de Oro West, joined the BCBP in 1991. During his 20 years in the community, he has served as Chapter Head of BCBP CDO from 2000-2002, as member of the Board of Trustee (2003-2005), and is presently the Regional Council Director for Northern Mindanao (2009-2011).

An Agri-Business graduate from UP Los Banos with the additional studies in Management Development at AIM, he manages and oversees various agricultural businesses involved in integrated forest management, cattle and dairy production, plantations growing pineapple, cassava, coconuts, mangoes and other fruit. Bong is also chairman and president of the Rural Bank of Medina, and is the administrator of a beach resort. He hails from Medina, Misamis Oriental, and is married to Cecilia Gozun Pelaez from Makati and Pampanga. They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.

Bro Manny Jimenez (right), BCBP’s President-Elect, joined the Brotherhood’s Alabang Chapter in 1988. Presently he serves as the Area Managing Director for Southern Luzon and member of the Board of Trustees. Past services include serving as Regional Council Director for South Metro Manila, Chapter Head of Alabang Chapter, and as National Treasurer.

Bro Manny heads the Acro Industrial Dev’t and Construction Company as its President, and is the CEO of Protection Specialists. He is married to Ma. Regina “Reggie” C. Jimenez; they have four children and five grandchildren.
