Zec 2:14-15 “Sing and rejoice, daughter Zion! Now, I am coming to dwell in your midst. Many nations will bind themselves to the LORD on that day. They will be my people, and I will dwell in your midst.”
God’s love has always been with us and His love is present in His creation specially in His gift of life to us, in His gifts as all other things were created because of God’s love and they become a context of gifts presented to us so that we may know God more easily and make a return of love more readily. God is also present dwelling in His gifts to us and in continuing to work up to now to bless us.
This dwelling of God in our midst, in us is made manifest in the birth of Jesus Christ. St. Ignatius imagines the Trinity looking down at our turbulent world concerned, personally involved and full of love and compassion for us. God takes the initiative as the Trinity come to a decision to intervene by sending down the Son, Jesus Christ, into our fallen, dark world. This birth of Jesus is described in the following beautiful images:
1. Heaven and Earth Kissed,
2. The Infinite became Finite to make us Infinite,
3. Divine Love lowering itself to bring us Up,
We continue to live in a dark and fallen world. Peace may seem farther from us, there is so much suffering and poverty in our midst, the looming increase in prices is ever present together the threat of war, violence, terrorism in the Middle East, North Korea and in other parts of the world. YET THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST IS PROOF AND EVIDENCE OF GOD IN OUR MIDST and that is enough to bring us hope, to assure us. JESUS BIRTH MARKS THE START OF THE MANY WAYS HE IS SAVING US THRU HIS PRESENCE AND ACCOMPANIMENT.
Let us turn to Jesus and pray for Him to be present and to accompany is in thecoming year.
Merry Christmas and a blessed 2018.
