BCBP to host Be Honest Run to benefit Marawi casualties

honest-runTHE Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen & Professionals (BCBP) endeavors in a running event– Be Honest Run Cebu 2017, to raise honesty awareness and to gather funds to help the distressed victims of the siege in Marawi City. The fun run set on Aug. 27 at the Terraces Ayala Center Cebu is open to all runners and fitness buffs and will have the 8-kilometer, 4K and 2K categories. “We have organized this fun run to give something to Marawi (City). But even before this run, we have already requested all the BCBP members to donate something for Marawi,” said Boy Villanueva, the area managing director for BCBP Visayas, during the press conference at the Mooon Cafe I.T Park yesterday. The fun run has been done in Manila, Davao City and Cagayan de Oro City two years ago to raise honesty awareness. This is the first time to be staged in Cebu. The BCBP, a Catholic community, has 14 chapters in Cebu and 106 chapters worldwide, sharing the same advocacy to encourage people to be honest. The community has been existing in Cebu for 29 years. “Our vision is bringing Christ into the marketplace and winning the marketplace for Christ. This run is inline with our advocacy,” said Ani Serrato, the regional council director (RCD) for BCBP. “This will be a sheer fun run, no cash prizes for the winners, but we’re giving away special prizes which will be announced soon,” Run chairman John Pages said. “Our advocacy here is honesty which is one of the most important values. Honesty should be practice it may be in business, politics and in any industry,” added Pages. RCD Sim Lanaria, said that they would like everyone to be aware that there’s a community in Cebu that pushes the advocacy of honesty in society. They’re expecting about 1,500 participants for the event. Registration fee is at P300 for every category inclusive of singlet and race bib. The BCBP Puerto Princesa South Chapter organized a Summer Camp from April 19-20, 2018 at the Agricultural Center, Department of Agriculture Compound at Barangay Irawan, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. The camp was actively participated in by 29 children of BCBP members and non-members alike, ages 5 to 20.
