Matthew 23:11 “The greatest among you will be your servant.”

Leaders are anointed in the community as they answer to God’s call to serve. With faith and brotherly love in their hearts, they heed to their divine assignment knowing in full that this requires their active obedience, unwavering commitment and devotion to God’s will.

BCBP Cagayan de Oro East chapter joyfully welcomed its new Chapter Head in the person of businessman and former Bukidnon congressman Jess Paras.

Last August 24, 2019, the Trade Hall of Mallberry Suites Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City was filled with more than 300 and guests as they came to witness the installation of BCBP CDO East’s new Chapter Head and Governance Team.

At the start of the ceremony, National President Joffe Almoro expressed the BCBP community’s gratitude to outgoing chapter head, Bobby and Ella Cabrera for their three years of faithful and dedicated service which saw the chapter flourish in membership and apostolic fervor.

Thereafter, Area Managing Director for Mindanao, Arvin Santillan proceeded to ceremonially install Jess Paras, commissioning him to lead the chapter through the grace and power of God.

National President Joffe Almoro read the Chapter Head’s appointment letter to Jess, with spouse Nena by Jess’ side. After that, outgoing Chapter Head, Bobby Cabrera turned over the chapter banner and manuals to Jess Paras.

Subsequently, the governance team was also installed in similar solemn rite. The ceremony ended with BCBP members reciting the Commitment Pledge to reaffirm their vows to the community.

Fr. Herb Schneider, S.J., the Board of Trustees, BCBP members including those from nearby chapters, and special guests came to grace the event. After dinner, a celebratory program and fellowship followed.
