BCBP West Covina celebrated its 1st year anniversary with a breakfast meeting and mass last February 10, 2013 at Max’s Restaurant in Puente Hills Mall in the City of Industry, CA. Headed by Bro. Edwin & Sis. Susie Dimaculangan, the Outreach has grown in membership since its first breakfast as a mission in 2009. BCBP West Covina was recognized as a full-fledged Outreach in February 2012.
Breakfast sharers were Bro. Romie & Sis. Edna Castaneda who were introduced by Bro. Roy Jakosalem. Bro. Charles Estrada gave the scriptural response . Emceed by Bro. Buddy & Joan Madamba, the breakfast was attended by members and first timers.
After the breakfast, a mass was officiated by Fr. Paul Manzano at the patio which was decked with Valentine-themed table centerpieces, balloons and buntings. A short program, emceed by Bro. Bong & Sis. Elsa Ventura, immediately followed consisting of inspirational messages from Bro. Polet Tiano, BCBP Los Angeles Chapter Head, Bro. Lib Madamba, Deputy RCD BCBP – West Coast, and Bro. Dito dela Cerna, RCD BCBP USA. In his closing remarks, Bro. Edwin Dimaculangan noted that the ongoing Christian Life Program (CLP) at St. Irenaeus Parish Hall in Cypress, CA is the outreach’s answer as he resonated the Sunday’s gospel of evangelization by being “fishers of men”. An impromptu rendition of love songs by some members of the Outreach coupled with a raffle of giveaways added a warm and delightful mood to an otherwise cold Sunday morning.
