The grand launching on Sunday, March 21, of the “Bumoto” election advocacy by the combined forces of six BCBP chapters and outreaches in Cebu received the blessing of His Eminence Cardinal Ricardo Vidal during their meeting last March 9. During the meeting the Advocacy Campaign was presented to the Cardinal, together with a sample of the tarpaulin, and the Prayer in both Tagalog and Bisaya was read.
A copy of the MOA between the COMELEC, PPCRV, and the BCBP, the Advocacy CD, Bisaya prayer and the letter from PPCRV Chair Mrs. Henrietta de Villa were given to the Cardinal.
His Eminence after the presentation informed the group that he would endorse the prayer to the Commission on Worship of the Diocese for review. After which, His Eminence Cardinal Vidal will issue a circular to all Parish Priests with instructions for the faithful to recite the prayer in the daily masses.
As part of the launching activity, each Chapter will sponsor a Mass in the morning of March 21, Sunday, in the parishes within their area assigned for this campaign. The Mass will be preceded by a convoy of cars on their way to the church, with the cars decorated with the advocacy campaign materials. The Advocacy Tarpaulin will be prominently displayed in the Church premises.
The BCBP chapters under Cebu RCD Hector Tina participating in this Election Advocacy campaign include Cebu Central, Cebu North, Mactan, Mandaue, Talisay, and Consolation.
