In shaping one’s core values and faith, it is important to start them young.
The BCBP in 2010 formed the Christ’s Young Professional (CYP) in Quezon City Chapter with a lean group of seven young professionals. Under the guidance of the Mission Directorate, the CYP now has 17 chapters nationwide with 394 active members. CYPs are composed of single and young professionals and businessmen between the ages of 20-37.
The Coffee Talks is a core activity of the CYP which is held every month in various chapters. Invited speakers share stories and advise to CYP members to hopefully help them seek a deeper relationship with God. Actionable information and ways on how the youth members can express their faith through and at work are discussed. Heart-warming and inspirational personal experiences are shared as well.
To support and guide the growth of the CYP, BCBP President PV Beley and National Service Coordinator for Mission Ani Serrato organized a CYP Core Team on March 21 this year. Reporting to NSC-Mission, the CYP Core Team sets out to develop plans and programs for implementation among the BCBP chapters. The plan would serve as roadmap for existing CYPs or those which have yet to launch such program in their chapter.
Effective April 1, 2022, the official composition of the National CYP Core Team is as follows:
- Bryan Cue and wife Mai – Lead Coordinator. They have been members for 11 years and are presently serving as Unit Leaders in Quezon City Chapter.
- Andres “Andy” Sebastian and wife Alvy – Service Coordinator for Mission. They couple has been with BCBP for 9 years and are currently Unit Leaders in Taguig Chapter.
- Mervin “Mervz” Servano – Service Coordinator for Formation. Mervin has been with the community for 7 years and is currently the CYP Coordinator for General Trias and CoffeeTalks Head of Cavite Central Chapter.
- Alfred Vincent “Vince” Victoria Pajarillaga – Service Coordinator for Program and Services. He is, at present, a Unit Leader in Quezon City Chapter and has been a member for 7 years.
