For three years now, Southern Tagalog Region 2 has been holding their Regional Assembly. The brain child of then RCD Bert Masiclat, it was supposed to bring the members of the region together in prayers and fellowship. It was also the best way for members from different Chapters and Outreaches to get to know each other. Patterned after NAC, it starts with worship, followed by small-group sharing, and healing. After dinner, each of the chapters and outreaches are given the chance to perform – either songs or dances – which give color to the said event.

The first Regional Assembly was held in the first quarter of 2010 and was hosted by Lipa Chapter. Last year it was agreed upon by the RCD and the Chapter heads to make it a Regional Assembly and Thanksgiving – the first activity of the year – thus it was held on January of last year, hosted by Batangas Chapter. It was Tanauan Chapter’s turn to host this year but the said event was held in Lipa City last January 21. Attended by 355 members from all over the region – Lipa, Lucena, Batangas, San Jose Mindoro and Tanauan Chapters; Calapan, Nasugbu, Taal/Lemery – this is the first major activity of Bro Noel Landicho as RCD. The new Area Managing Director for South Luzon, Bro. Jun Obra together with his lovely wife Mina graced the affair. Also present was the former RCD and now a member of the BOT and NSC for Programs and Services Bro. Bert Masiclat and wife Loids.
The Regional Assembly and Thanksgiving will be a yearly activity of the region. It has been serving its purpose – to foster closeness and camaraderie among the members thereby making the region more vibrant; a borderless community at its finest.
