It was on the clear Sunday morning of March 21, 2010, at the St. Clement’s Church Grounds that the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP) Iloilo Chapter together with the BCBP Molo Chapter, headed by their respective chapter heads, Engr. Jimi Jegonia (Iloilo) and Dr. Joe Soriano (Molo) grouped together in walking for a Clean, Wise and Honest Election. The walk was entitled “Bumoto Ng Tapat, Bumoto Ng Nararapat”.
The “BE HONEST” advocacy of the BCBP is now fully aligned with the Election Advocacy of the PPCRV, Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting, and the COMELEC, Commission on Elections. This advocacy campaign is making efforts on all fronts possible to help the electorate know and discern which candidates to vote for.
Five important qualifications are set forth as follows:
The BCBP as a group does not, is not and will not endorse any candidate. As individual, everyone’s choice and decision is respected. The BCBP does advocate a Clean, Wise and Honest selection of a suitable leader based on the five characteristics mentioned to take the helm of government for the sake of good governance.
The marchers, about 200 in all, started at 6:30 a.m. from St. Clement’s Church and reached Jaro Plaza at 7:15 a.m. They then proceeded with the completion of distribution of 130 banners and posters throughout Iloilo City and province.
