All BCBP Chapters and Outreaches nationwide and community-wide celebrate the Brotherhood’s traditional annual Day of Thanksgiving on the first Friday of the New Year, this year on Friday, January 6, 2012. The celebration is marked by a Eucharistic celebration, intercessory prayers and fasting. The purpose of BCBP’s National Day of Thanksgiving is to thank God for all the blessings and graces bestowed on the community and its members during the past year and to pray for His blessing for the work of the New Year.
The BCBP is a community of like-minded Christian businessmen and professionals who have consciously decided to band together to bring about the transformation of the marketplace, and, in doing so, to win the marketplace for Christ. Bringing Christ into the marketplace and winning the marketplace for Him means bringing about a radical change in the value system of business to one that is based on genuine and sustainable Christ-centric business tenets of steward leadership, justice and integrity, and professional excellence. This is the work for the New Year that the BCBP community will lift to God in prayer for His guidance and help.
The BCBP Way of Life is a transformative way of life, encompassing the practice of moral integrity and Christian values not only in the business milieu, but also in each member’s family life, as well as in the life of the BCBP Community as a whole. During the Day of Thanksgiving prayers will also be lifted up by the members for each other and for their families for the Holy Spirit to be a transformative influence in their lives throughout the New Year. May God bless the BCBP!
