BCBP DAVAO – CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING (8.16-17,2013)

by BCBP admin

BCBP DAVAO IS NOW 20 YEARS OLD!

English – WOW!
Pilipino – Ang galing…
Bisaya – Ka lami…

GOD IS GOOD!….and will always be.

BCBP Cagayan de Oro ( Mother Chapter) and BCBP Cebu ( Lola Chapter) are very happy to see their son/grandson BCBP Davao celebrate their 20 years with the BCBP Family.

BCBP Davao 20 years

Time and logistical resources (such as Efficascent/Omega ointments for our tired and young bodies then) have been invested to make sure that BCBP Davao is conceived, born to be a healthy outreach, grow into a responsible Chapter, and further reach out to other parts of Southern Mindanao.

Beng and I have devoted 22 years and likewise to the Davao Batch CLP 1 have devoted 20 years to the BCBP
ALL of us old timers agree that BCBP is our way of life and our family.
I can not IMAGINE what life would be without the BCBP… probably and in all probability – EMPTY!

CIRCA 1995: BCBP CDO Outreach MISSION TO DAVAO

The BCBP CdO infancy and growing years for Beng and myself was most challenging and in particular accepting unconditionally the BCBP culture on SUBMISSION TO AUTHORITY.
This BCBP Culture was first tested and challenged in Davao (year 1995) when Beng and I were asked by Davao members to give a workshop on BCBP Sharing Testimony aside from the BCBP CDO Evangelization Program Series that was being given at that time.

Excited and full of enthusiasm, Beng and I asked our Mission Director if we could give the workshop and practicum since we were ready and prepared….the answer was a straight NO!
Please be reasonable Mr. Mission Director!…..NO! NO! NO! was the answer.

Mr. Mission Director and I belong to BCLP No.3.
We are very good friends to date and just laugh it out loud when I tease him about that incident.

This SUBMISSION TO AUTHORITY Culture taught me the very important virtue of Christ and that is HUMILITY.

Christ’s HUMILITY is best exemplified when He submitted Himself without resistance to the Authority just to be ridiculed, persecuted, and eventually crucified – a humiliating way to die.

The virtue of HUMILITY helped me to give my all trust to Christ instead of gratifying my confidence and ability.

The virtue of HUMILITY in the workplace helped me to be sensitive and to always listen..listen…listen before making a decision or judgement.

Lastly, SUBMISSION TO AUTHORITY in the BCBP Culture and Christ’s virtue of HUMILITY are partners in the BCBP way of life.

ALL FOR GOD’S GREATER GLORY. +
