The recently concluded BCBP USA launch and installation of a new Governance Team for BCBP Los Angeles Chapter (previously known as BCBP Southern California Chapter) last October 13, 2012 in Long Beach, California was a resounding success with representatives from the BCBP MANCOM led by no less than the BCBP National President Manny Jimenez and wife Reggie, Chairman of BOT, Bong Pelaez, Father Herb Schneider, BCBP spiritual adviser, Past Presidents, Manolet and Carla Siojo and Louie and Lilly Morales, NSC – Mission Mayong Rodriguez, NSC PSD Bert Masiclat in attendance to mention a few.

Dito dela Cerna who has long served BCBP Southern California first as an Outreach Head from 2003-2009 and as Chapter Head from 2009-2012 passed the rod of leadership to Polet Tiano, a BCLP graduate of BCBP Alabang Chapter. Polet together with his wife Jeng will serve BCBP Los Angeles Chapter in the next three years together with his Governance Team composed of Rusty and Grace Carluen, Mission Director; Rusty and Liza Cabilin, Formation Director, Chris and Jake (Ellen Rose) Mariano, Program and Services Director; Ed Obra, Treasurer; Eric and Mariza Cordeta, Unit Leader; Taboy and Evelyn Conopio, Unit Leader.

After the installation of the new Governance Team for Los Angeles, what followed was a more historic event with the launch of BCBP USA. Appointed as the Regional Council Director (RCD) for the United States of America is Edito dela Cerna. Assisting him are Lib Madamba as Deputy RCD, Western Region and Art Neri, Deputy RCD, Eastern Region. A parade of banners representing the various BCBP missions in the US followed suit. These are Los Angeles, San Francisco, West Covina, New York, Van Nuys, San Bruno, Eagle Rock, La Palma, Chicago and Toronto, Canada.

Members from the other parts of the US and Canada also graced the affairs to bear witness to this momentous occasion. BCBP San Francisco, came with over 25 members led by Outreach Head Ricky Beltran. Representing New York, Arthur Neri and Gilbert Uy; Chicago, Cris Tan and Edison Else; Canada Etchin Sumagang and Cris Alatraca; Ohio, Ed and Lita Canlas.

A night of dancing and camaraderie capped the night. It did not end there though. The following morning saw all the members who graced the affair up and about partaking in a goal-setting workshop prepared for them by Father Herb and the MANCOM officers.

the birth of bcbp usa is a milestone. it is big challenge to push for ‘new evangelization’ in this year of the faith. in this country, faith in God is dwindling and atheism is gaining momentum in the minds of the people especially the young.

hi kapatiran team, im happy to read that our community in US/Canada is growing.. maybe it’s high time we update our list of Regions and Chapter Section so that other BCBP members who are already abroad will be guided to the chapter/outreach near them. i tried visiting Regions and Chapters Section of our website and only 3 chapters/outreaches are listed there. in this news article i read 10 chapters/outreaches… or maybe 11 because there is a mention of delegation from Ohio.. thanks & more power!
