Annie Salvador reflects on the parable of the sower and the seed. She asks herself: What kind of soil am I? Given whatever I knew about gardening and agriculture and myself too, I wanted to use and stretch the parable to really describe myself as seedbed for God’s word.

For many of us, Lent is particularly associated with repentance and sacrifice. Annie Salvador says that she has always believed that God is constantly blessing us, so if she were to daresay, perhaps in the Season of Lent, to bless us is likewise what He wants to do.

Annie Salvador, BCBP Baguio, shares with us her thoughts on the Advent Season. Amid the ubiquitous busyness that the season brings, to stop and be still may seem strange. It is a time for commemorating Love, come to Earth to free us from sin. It is a time of expectation and anticipation; a yearning for deliverance; a preparation for receiving the Lord anew.
Love is an emotion, a decision. But don’t forget, when the fizz settles, to THINK, because love has hard questions that need to be answered.
September, for me, is my Papa’s month. On the 3rd, he would have turned 85. He passed away in 2009. From him I learned many things, especially that when we love, we need to read between the lines.
