RECEIVE, REJOICE, RESPOND
We woke up to a rainy Christmas Eve, maybe one of the few times in recent memory that this has happened. The rains plus the traffic, the gifts we still have to buy and wrap, the long counters in the Department Stores and Supermarkets, the office work still pending including the 2015 targets yet to be attained may make the Christmas message of the coming of EMMANUEL, God with us, lose its meaning and power in our lives. And yet hopefully, it is precisely these events that will make us realize we need a Savior, Jesus, in our lives and lead us to actively prepare to open our hearts, our lives, our homes to Jesus and His love. We can Receive Jesus, Rejoice in Jesus, Respond to Jesus.
1. RECEIVE JESUS. The world, our country and even our lives will be dark, without direction, filled with rain without the presence of God. And yet the beautiful message is that God does not allow this to happen and He sends His son, Jesus to remove the darkness and rain, to express His Unconditional and Indomitable Love, Restore our Faith, make Permanent our Hope. Jesus says “I am with you”.
By receiving Jesus, God who makes a decision to be with us, we acknowledge our God as a personal God, deeply involved in our lives. We also grow in Humility.
2. REJOICE In JESUS. Jesus coming to us will not remove the rains, the traffic, the gifts we still have to buy and wrap, the long counters in the Department Stores and Supermarkets, the office work including the work in the BCBP still pending, the 2015 targets yet to be attained etc.….etc.
3. RESPOND to JESUS. Christmas has always been a Call by God to Come and Rest Awhile with Jesus before going on mission. And next year, our 35th year, is a busy year for the BCBP to Be Brave and Be Bold in Bringing Jesus to The Marketplace and Win The Marketplace for Christ.
Let us spend this time individually and collectively asking Jesus “As you called King David, Elizabeth, Zechariah, John The Baptist, St. Joseph, The Blessed Mother to Bring You, My Lord Jesus, into the lives of others, guide me, prepare me to Be Brave and Be Bold to bring you to My Workplace and win it for You”.
Merry Christmas and a Spirit filled 2015 to All.
