It is said that serving God is the highest and best service one could do during one’s lifetime. In the brotherhood, I have seen men who enjoyed their God-given life as they serve the Lord faithfully. Their hearts are filled with joy ac they serve God and it’s an honor and a pleasure to them to serve and give their best to the Lord.

sincerOn the other hand, I have also seen men in the brotherhood who are not even interested, neither willing to give their time, strength and hearts to God who gave them life. As honorable businessmen and professionals, isn’t it an indignity on our part if we try to please and serve other people whom we look up to, but we become unresponsive to our Almighty God who cares so much for us?

I myself am equally guilty when I allowed myself to become unresponsive to God’s calling. With all the hardships in life, work, business and family, I almost gave up my service in the brotherhood. My stubborn heart pushed me to search (or my real self, only to realize that when God is calling upon you, He will escort you to a deeper understanding of what life in the brotherhood is all about.

As I continued to think out of the box, I stared upon my brothers who really exemplified a classic model of a faithful servant. Through their lives, they consistently demonstrated how to serve God in sincerity and in truth.

I opened my eyes to consider the way to serve God. I wonder how I can keep myself faithfully serving God; after all, God Himself gave me a choice – my own personal choice. To some people, making a choice is just a light thing; but for me, it is a matter of loving the Lord’s choice – His will and not my will.

Serving God is a rewarding decision. I love to see those brothers whose well-lived life influenced others in the brotherhood to serve God faithfully. The way they serve the Lord might seem insignificant to us, but if they are serving Him faithfully in sincerity and in truth, they are a great encouragement to many believers. Through their testimonies, their lives will touch other lives and serve as motivators to lead others to serve God faithfully.

In Psalm 37:4, it is written, “Delight yourself in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart!’ How many of us want to experience this blessing? If we serve God, we will experience the wonderful blessing of being delightful to God.

We cannot deny that all of us are in need of a decision to serve God faithfully in sincerity and in truth. Scripture warns us of the danger of serving two masters. In Matthew 6:24, the Lord said, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.”

May the Lord consider us faithful as we serve Him. May we thank God for enabling us and placing us into this brotherhood, though we may be a sinner and unworthy. God truly is worthy of praise and because of His mercy, He gave us the great opportunity to serve Him. It’s a great honor to serve God.

Let us continue to examine ourselves and ask, “Flow can I serve the Lord?” Let us continue to bring in first timers to the breakfast and pray for the success of our BCLP this coming September in our mother chapter and likewise in our Carcar outreach. I continue to pray for each one of you, that you will find joy in serving the Lord through our community.

To God be the glory.
