Fr. John opening remarks

The Singapore mission of the South Metro Manila region successfully launched an inaugural breakfast meeting last saturday, august 17, at the social hall of the parish of Sts. Peter and Paul located at 225A queen street, Singapore. The breakfast meeting was attended by 32 persons composed of 16 first timers consisting of 13 Filipino residents and 3 Chinese Singaporeans with a complement of 4 BCBP members residing in Singapore and 12 members coming from Alabang, Makati, Las Pinas, Cebu and Greenhills to include the mission team. The first timers come from varied professions in banking, advertising, IT and business who promised to come back and bring their friends and colleageues.

Fr. John Chua, the Carmelite parish priest and the sponsor and supporter of the Singapore mission, welcomed the attendees and praised BCBP for its mission to bring the community to Singapore. He promised to continue to support this initiative by inviting more of his parishioners and the continued use of the parish facilities. Danny Dy of Makati chapter shared his intense Christian transformation when he joined BCBP that led to his full committment to serve the Lord and the communityfor the rest of his life.

The next breakfast meeting will be held again at 9 am, August 31 at the same venue. Subsequent breakfasts will be held on the 2nd and 4th saturday of every month until early December. A joint breakfast might be scheduled before the end of 2013. We enjoin everybody to continue supporting this initiative by referring and influencing realtives and friends in Singapore to join the breakfast meetings. This initiative could not prosper without the support of the community through your prayers and referrals.

The Singapore mission team is composed of by Serge de la Fuente, mission head and Regional Council Director, Bob Corrales, mission coordinator from Alabang, Carlos Co of Makati, Raul Dauz of Alabang, Weng Carballo of Las Pinas and music coordinator, and Bobby Samaniego of Manila.
